Not My Lane | Indie folk-pop

Not My Lane are an emerging indie folk-pop duo who perform original music alongside a large catalogue of covers that cross genres. We'd love you to join us on our journey!

A young band with big energy, Not My Lane is made up of ukulele/ guitar player and powerhouse vocalist Lila Smith, and energetic drummer Lucais Ireland. The pair met through their local music school, and joined forces in late 2024. They have since performed widely at local and regional festivals, spent countless hours busking at local markets, and local open mic nights. At just 12 years old, singer-songwriter Lila Smith is already crafting quirky and emotive lyrics and haunting melodies that reach far beyond her years. With a sound possibly best described as indie folk pop, Lila brings honesty, vulnerability, and a rare emotional depth to every song.Alongside her, drummer Lucais Ireland shapes the band’s atmosphere with dynamic, intuitive percussion — blending restrained quiet moments with powerful builds that draw listeners in and heighten the emotional impact of the music.Together, Not My Lane create intimate, evocative songs that capture attention and leave a lasting impression. Balancing youthful authenticity with a sound that feels strikingly mature, and somehow familiar from the first listen.

Our debut single Breakfast at Midnight is available now on most major streaming services!
